Ask what colleagues in work of equal value earn on average

Under the Dutch pay transparency law you may ask your employer for the average pay of colleagues doing the same work or work of equal value, broken down by gender. Fill in your details and you have a letter you can send right away.

Does this apply yet?

Not yet. The bill is before the Dutch House of Representatives and takes effect expected in 2027. Until then you may ask, but your employer does not have to answer. The letter allows for that: it makes your question a request for now.

For example your HR contact. Leave it empty and the letter opens with 'Dear Sir or Madam'.

We keep nothing of what you enter here. The letter is composed once for you and not stored.

What you do and do not get

  • Averages per category, broken down by gender. Not the pay of individual colleagues.
  • Your own pay level and the criteria your pay and pay progression are based on.
  • Which roles form a category together is decided by your employer, on objective and gender-neutral criteria.
Art. 10b lid 1 Wgbmv

"informatie over de naar geslacht uitgesplitste gemiddelde loonniveaus voor categorieen van werknemers die gelijke of gelijkwaardige arbeid verrichten"

Wetsvoorstel 36949, Memorie van Toelichting (kamerstuk 36 949, nr. 3) (MvT par. 7.1). Laatst geverifieerd 5 september 2026.
